Punjab School Education Department has revised school timing from 1st October 2025. Department has issued notification of revised timing of all schools. However, Primary, Elementary, and Higher Secondary School follow new timing schedule from October 1, 2025. Punjab School Timing Change Notification October 2025
The Punjab government is set to revise school timings in October 2025 as the weather turns cooler. Each year, from mid-October to February, school hours are adjusted to protect students and teachers from the harsh early mornings. An official notification is expected soon, after which all schools across Punjab will implement the new winter schedule.
School Timing Changed Punjab from 1st October 2025
New Punjab School timing will be effective from first October 2025. Department has already issued a notification about revised timing as 7:30 am to 1:00 pm (and shorter on Fridays) until October 15, 2025, for single-shift schools, and 8:00 am to 1:30 pm until October 15, 2025, for single-shift schools, with different timings for double-shift schools. However, a more recent notification from late September 2025 states that timings for schools across Punjab will start from 8:45 am, effective October 28 till January 31, 2025, due to the worsening smog crisis.

Govt of Punjab New School Timing Schedule
The Government of Punjab has released the new school timing schedule for 2025. From October 1 to October 15, single and double-shift schools will follow revised hours. Due to increasing smog, another notification sets 8:45 am as the start time from October 28 to January 31, 2026.
